Atlanta Motor Speedway made it's debut on the NASCAR circuit in 1960 as a 1.5 mile oval. In 1997 the start/finish line at Atlanta Motor Speedway was moved to what had been the backstretch and 2 doglegs were added to the front stretch, making it a 1.54 mile quad-oval.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway is in Hampton, Georgia about 25 miles south of Altanta. The track was built in 1959 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ran there the following year.
